What is important during an extraction? Extraction is performed under local anesthesia. In case if a patient is nervous we do provide oral sedation or Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) to help in relieving anxiety. It is very important to preserve as much bone as possible around the tooth to allow replacement of the tooth in future with implant or dentures. Sometimes it is important to place bone graft and membrane to allow bone regeneration in the extraction site which provides proper bone support for future replacement of the tooth.
